Yes, Animate can use Cadence PCells. Animate calls Virtuoso to evaluate the PCells and caches them locally. If you save the Animate layout back to a Cadence library, the PCells, their parameters and all net/shape information is maintained.

Animate Preview currently does not support Synopsys PyCells.
